Trust in Real Estate Services Act, 2002 (TRESA) - Part 3
By RECO Communications
RECO is pleased to share the next video in the TRESA series. It focuses on sharing the content of competing offers, access to real estate, the discipline committee under TRESA, the new Code of Ethics regulation, and changes affecting brokerages.
The first two videos recently shared with you outlined a number of other key changes including how registrants interact with consumers, the new RECO Information Guide and the Information and Disclosure to Self-represented Party form, as well as new requirements affecting disclosures, consents, and acknowledgements.
PHASE 2 DELAYED The government has delayed the in force date of the Phase 2 legislative and regulatory changes to assess a regulatory proposal to further enhance consumer protection and offer more consumer choice. At this time, RECO does not have a new effective date. You will be notified as soon as we do. In the meantime, RECO will continue to release information to help registrants prepare for the changes. The TRESA Explained page on RECO’s website provides information about the key changes, and bulletins on a variety of TRESA-related topics will be posted on this page as they become available. TRESA videos can be found there too. Also, a TRESA mandatory continuing education (MCE) course is being developed. You will be notified as soon as it becomes available. If you have questions, please contact us at email@example.com. Include “TRESA Question” in the subject line.
